Beginning Tuesday, May 27th, 2025, the west leg of the intersection of S.D. Highway 37 and W 23rd Avenue will be closed to thru traffic. A detour route will be available along the S.D. Bypass for local traffic and remain in effect for four weeks.
This work is part of a larger project that will reconstruct Highway 37 in Mitchell from Main Street to National Guard Road.
Motorists should be prepared for delays and a 12-foot width restriction through this area. Drivers are asked to be aware of constriction workers and equipment, and to slow down through the work zone. Motorists should expect congestion, slower speeds, and turning traffic during the closure.
