KORN News Radio was recently honored with three Eric Sevareid Awards of Merit from the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association. The awards were in the Small Market Radio division for Newscast, Series and Social Media.
In the Social Media category, KORN News Radio’s entry “School Board Scuffle Over Mask Mandate” was recognized for its coverage of a disturbance during a Mitchell School Board meeting last fall.
In the Series category, KORN News Radio’s “COVID-19 Update” series of daily reports between mid-March and late May of last year caught the contest judge’s attention.
“Mitchell’s Morning News at 7:30” on December 30th was also recognized.
This is 21st consecutive year that KORN News Radio has earned Sevareid Awards in numerous categories.
The Eric Sevareid Awards recognize outstanding broadcast journalism in a six-state region that includes South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin.
