Mitchell’s next Mayor will influence the direction city government takes regarding improving Lake Mitchell’s water quality. Lake Development committee chairman Joe Kippes says the group has briefed Mayoral candidates Tara Volesky, Mel Olson, Bob Everson and Steven Larson prior to Thursday’s public forum. “They know what we know,” said Kippes. “They can draw their own conclusions…I think there was misinformation out there and it should be corrected now.”
He says the misnomer regarded opinions by South Dakota and Iowa state departments as to whether dredging is a viable part of a lake improvement plan.
Election Day is June 5th.
