The Leadership Mitchell Class of 2026 celebrated the completion of its annual community project with a ribbon-cutting Thursday. Class members unveiled a newly installed vinyl wrap on a traffic signal control box. The project features artwork highlighting Mitchell’s history and the World’s Only Corn Palace as part of a community beautification effort.
Class member Tiffany Ellis is the designer and was inspired by similar displays on Main Street. “As we had the opportunity to talk about what we’d like to do with our design, I thought it would be fun to continue that project with some history about the Corn Palace,” said Ellis.
The wrap includes historic photos and a map of the downtown area. Members of the Leadership Mitchell class raised funds to cover the cost of the project as well as future maintenance.
The control box is located on the southeast corner of Seventh and Main next to the City Hall parking lot for all to see.
