Two adults charged in connection with allegations of rape by members of Mitchell’s American Legion baseball team this past summer entered not guilty pleas during their initial appearance in a Mitchell courtroom Thursday.
43 year old Luke Henry Norden pleaded not guilty to two counts of Intentional Failure to Report Abuse or Neglect of a Child and two counts of Misprision of a Felony. Both are Class One Misdemeanors punishable by up to one-year in jail and or a $2,000 fine on each count. The offenses took place on or about June 22nd and June 27th.
49 year old Jeremy Brent Borgan pleaded not guilty to one count of Intentional Failure to Report Abuse or Neglect of a Child on or about June 19th, a Class One Misdemeanor punishable of up to one-year in jail and or a $2,000 fine.
A combined court trial is scheduled for both defendants on March 21st and 22nd, 2024 in Mitchell.
