Since taking office last July, Mayor Jordan Hanson has been taking a deep-dive into all city government operations and community opportunities. He presented his findings before a sizable crowd Tuesday evening at the Muth Technology Center Amphitheater on the MTC campus. “I like giving everyone information and numbers,” said Hanson. “I want to be a communicator for everyone.”
To coin a well-worn phrase, Hanson “did his homework.” “I probably had fifty to sixty hours into it and also my city staff did a lot of work,” he pointed out. “There’s a hundred hours of work in it probably.”

Hanson’s presentation took the audience everywhere from the new city water source, to the Corn Palace domes, underground to a sewage lift station, city parks, the new jetty at Lake Mitchell to bike paths. And on the seventh day he rested. The presentation will be available on the city website soon.
