MHS commencement speakers share some final thoughts

As per tradition, the members of Mitchell senior high graduating classes choose two commencement speakers. And the Class of 2025 was no exception.

Maxwell Hart’s address was titled “Chasing a Life Worth Living.” He told his classmates, “I have a challenge for us today. As we move into the next chapter of our lives, we need to do new things, do hard things, do things that have meaning and purpose, instead of things that might appear easy. I know the class of 2025 has much to offer the world, and I look forward to chatting about it on the SNAP.” He continued, “Congratulations, class of 2025. I’m a proud member of this class, and I can’t wait to see what you guys do in the years ahead.”

Ashlyn Reynolds spoke on “Becoming”. “Becoming does not stop when you leave this stage,” said Reynolds. “It happens in college dorms, first apartments, first jobs, in lengthy conversations with people that challenge you. It happens when you chase something that scares you and when plans fall apart. It happens when you open your mind and when life doesn’t go your way, but you find meaning anyway.”

227 students walked across the Corn Palace stage Sunday afternoon before a large crowd of family, friends, faculty and staff.
