The Hanson County Sheriff’s Office says a man from Sioux Falls who was reported missing on Monday was found dead in rural Hanson County. According to a news release, on Monday morning Metro Communications in Sioux Falls contacted the Hanson County Sheriff’s Office asking for assistance in locating a missing person. The 66 year old man had left Sioux Falls on January 5th to go hunting and failed to return home. Hanson County Sheriff, Deputies, and South Dakota Game Fish and Parks Conservation Officers and others searched around the public hunting areas in Hanson County. The man’s truck was located on Highway 25 north of 246th Street. A search of the area was done and the man’s body was located. His name is being withheld while family members are notified. The investigation is ongoing.
