It’s business as usual today for Speedy Taxi as the Mitchell City Council Monday voted to allow the company to continue operating despite a reckless driving complaint against driver Dustin Feistner on July 12th filed by a competing cab company.
Mayor Bob Everson allowed each side to present evidence and witnesses to the council.
Lori Claussen, owner of Lori’s Lyft told the council Feistner harassed her and her drivers. “He ran my driver off the road,” said Claussen. “…caused damage to my van.”
She also claimed other witnesses declined to appear because they were afraid of Feistner and said he harassed her through text messages which she was unable to produce at the time.
Feistner told the council the accusations are competition-based. “None of them are true,” Feistner said. “I just hope you guys see the truth I’m that not the person they’re portraying me to be.”
The council plans to review the matter again in late December when all city taxi licenses come up for a renewal hearing. The court has yet to deal with charges against Feistner.
