This is National Disability Employment Awareness month. As part of a local celebration Mitchell presented its Employer and Employee of the year awards.
Edgewood Health Care was named Employer of the Year.
Bonnie Gusso with Black Hills Specialty Services Cooperative presented the second award to Shaun Nagel of Boyd’s Gunstock. “While his attention to detail is top-notch, it’s his character and radiant positivity that is truly outstanding,” Gusso told the audience. “Ladies and gentlemen, congratulate our employee of the year!”
She also gave Mitchell high marks for employing folks with disabilities. “Mitchell is such a supportive community,” said Gusso who covers all of southeast South Dakota. “And I always say it, ‘Mitchell is…leading the way.’”
This year’s theme is “Access to Good Jobs for All”
