The Mitchell community joined communities across the nation Monday in remembering those who gave their lives in the cause of freedom during Memorial Day services.
Mike Vehle of Mitchell delivered a memorial address during which he told the stories of three South Dakotans who gave their lives and then challenged the audience do three things to honor their legacy….
State Voice of Democracy Winner, Lexi Brandt of Custer also offered and followed by a special award presentation, reading of the roll and a salute to deceased area military veterans who died during the last year.
