On July 26th at approximately 3:15 am, the Mitchell Police Department responded to the 800 block of West Ash for an incident involving individuals breaking out windows on a vehicle. Responding officers learned that this incident stemmed from a disturbance that had occurred earlier in the morning at the Mitchell Soccer complex, 5861 Tower Rd, Mitchell SD. Officers responded to that area of the soccer complex to search for a missing male. Officers found the 18-year-old male laying in the road ditch in approximately the 5700 block of Airport Road. This male subject was pronounced dead on scene from injuries that he had received. It is believed that the male was ejected from the back of a moving pick up. This remains an active investigation.
