Mitchell Police are investigating two separate deaths that occurred on Friday, January 10th.
According to a new release issued by the Mitchell Police Department Monday afternoon, around 10:30 on January 10th, Mitchell police and Mitchell fire were dispatched to a report of an adult female who had been found face down in an alleyway in the 600 block of West 10th Avenue. Officers and medics arrived on scene and attempted life-saving measures at which time the female was transported to Avera Queen of Peace hospital. A short time after arrival the female was declared deceased.
At this point in the investigation, it appears the death was of natural causes and there is no foul play suspected.
In an unrelated call at approximately 2:30 p.m. Mitchell Police and Mitchell and Fire were dispatched to the 700 block of East Havens for a report of an unresponsive female. On arrival of officers and medics it was determined the female was deceased. The investigation into the death is still underway and no foul play is suspected.
Neither of these incidents are connected to one another and out of respect to the deceased individuals there will be no further information released at this time.
