The Mitchell School Board unanimously approved a bid to repair the Gertie Belle Rogers Elementary School roof. Superintendent Joe Childs says there were nine bidders. “The bid is just north of $255,000 to Guarantee Roofing and Sheet Metal,” Childs said. “What we’re expecting now is that the Gertie Belle Rogers roof project will begin as soon as possible really while the weather’s nice. He’s hoping the project will be completed by October.
He says the GBR roof is in such poor shape it makes the building uninsurable.
The Board also declared numerous items from the old high school surplus. Childs says they’ll go up for bid on-line at purplewave.com starting Tuesday, July 22nd. You’ll also be able to find a link to the auction on the Mitchell School District website.
