The Mitchell School Board focused primarily on the proposed K-12 and MTC budgets for 2025-2026 during its meeting Tuesday evening.
MTC Chief Financial Officer Jared Hofer reviewed the projected numbers. “Overall, we’re looking at $32.6-million dollars in total revenue,” said Hofer. “That is up over 27-percent over the prior year.” Hofer says the majority of that difference is the funding for capital projects.
The proposed K-12 general fund budget is slightly lower than this year’s budget. However Superintendent Joe Childs says there’s a bit of jump in capital outlay. “We have a heck of a lot of preventative maintenance to do,” Childs said. “Of course, we’re finishing up a very nice project right now that will be don when the Mitchell High School opens up.”
The board will take a deeper dive into the proposed budgets during its first meeting in June.
