The Mitchell School Board spent more than two-hours Wednesday evening in a goal-setting work session with an education consultant.
Superintendent Joe Childs found the session useful. “We ranked those and three rose to the top pretty quickly,” said Childs. “So we were able to move through more specifics about each of those three goals and now we’re going to work on action steps moving forward.”
The three goals include investigating the feasibility of implementing a pre-school, implementing a comprehensive mental health program and increasing the Mitchell School District’s presence and relevance on social media and its website.
Childs says next is developing action steps for each of the goals. “And we talked about maybe on this next board meeting…but the November meeting might be a time when we’d see those action steps.”
The board took no action as the gathering was a work session only.
