Mitchell’s James Valley Community Center is closed this week as are other city facilities. However the Senior Meals program is operating on a take-out basis.
Jessica Pickett is Mitchell’s Community Services Director. “They’re the same meals they get during the week during lunch,” said Pickett. “So they can pull up to the front of the building and we’ll bring the hot and ready meal out to them.”
She says the hot meals should be ordered by 8am the day of pick up by calling 995-8440. Hot meals are available for pick up between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm. Frozen meals can be ordered at least fifteen-minutes before pick up at the same number. Payments may be made by cash, check or credit card. Seniors may also purchase a meal ticket. The pricing remains the same.
