Sixteen show choir groups from South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska competed for top honors in this year’s Mitchell Show Choir Classic at the Performing Arts Center.
Event co-chair Nikki Hobbe says about 1,400 people on average attend the annual event. She says it takes a strong group of volunteers to make it happen. “Our parents group organization are wonderful about volunteering their time and energy and talents to make this day go off without a hitch,” said Hobbe.
Hobbe says the Performing Arts Center gets rave reviews from visitors. “We are very fortunate to have it,” Hobbe said. “We’re so grateful our administration felt that it was worth spending the money on because it is just a beautiful facility.”
The classic began at eight o’clock Saturday morning and was scheduled to run till around 10 pm.
