Mitchell United Way celebrates a successful 2024 campaign

The Mitchell United Way is celebrating another successful campaign. The 2024 campaign set a goal of $475,000 and executive director Ashley Hobbs says the final total is $491,333. “It feels pretty good, but we could not have done it without the support of the community.” said Hobbs. “We really just appreciate everyone’s efforts, and even though everyone stressed me out for a little bit, we did do it, and we feel very proud that we can be able to help and support our community this way.”

Campaign Chair Liz Salmonson concurred. “The Mitchell community just keeps surprising me because we always rally,” Salmonson said. “And again, I talked about the flooding at some of our presentations and how the community just rallied around each other.” She added, “This is no different. You can tell in this community that neighbors want to help neighbors and for everyone to thrive.”

Funds will support 33 local agencies addressing critical areas such as food security, housing, education, healthcare, and arts.

The theme “Everyone Counts” emphasized the power of collective giving, showing that every contribution plays a vital role in making a difference.
