Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mitchell United Way managed to exceed its $350,000 campaign goal. Executive Director Dave Stevens says the final tally is $386,024. “We did lower our goal from last year by 20%,” said Stevens. “I’m pleased to announce we’ve exceeded this year’s goal by 10%, so people really stepped up to help our 32 agencies.”
He says the board thought it was a reasonable plan. “With the hope that we would be able to under-promise and over-deliver,” Stevens continued. “That’s what actually then did happen.”
On a side note, this is the 40th consecutive year the Mitchell United Way has equaled or exceeded its annual goal.
