Starting June 1st, Mitchell’s Prehistoric Indian Village is offering free admission to youngsters aged twelve and under. Executive Director Cindy Gregg says a $10,000 grant from Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railroad is making it possible. “We’re doing what we can to help these families with small children to afford to have a really great vacation experience,” said Gregg.
She believes the free admission for kids will draw more families to the attraction. “Because we just love having the children here because this site here, gives the children an opportunity to see Native American history from 1,000 years ago,” Gregg said.
Gregg plans to spread the word immediately on the museum’s website and social media. She says it should be a pleasant surprise for many visiting families.
This summer the Prehistoric Indian Village is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Thomsen Center Archeodome.
