A 59-year-old man died in a two-vehicle motorcycle crash early Monday afternoon in Presho.
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety reported the driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle had exited Interstate 90 and continued northbound on 305th Avenue, where he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of SD Highway 248. As the driver entered the intersection, he collided with the driver of a pickup truck who was traveling westbound on SD 248. The motorcycle entered into a yaw and proceeded into the north ditch where it rolled and the driver was separated from the motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet.
The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Dodge truck did not have any injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
The names of the persons involved have not been released pending notification of family members.
