The South Dakota Department of Public Safety has released the name of a male driver who died last Friday as a result of a single vehicle crash in Charles Mix County.
Around 12:40 pm, 56 year old Robert Nicholas Fischer, Jr. from Kennebec was driving a 2000 Freightliner Conventional FLD120 southbound on US Highway 18 three miles south of Lake Andes when his brakes locked. The truck swerved into the ditch and rolled. Fischer sustained fatal injuries. He wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is leading the investigation which is continuing.
