Three people were injured, one fatally, in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning 13 miles west of Rapid City.
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety reported 52 year old Willard D. Howard, Jr. of Rapid City was driving a Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Sheridan Lake Road, near the intersection with Boulder Hill Road. While traveling down a long icy hill, the Silverado crossed the center line and collided head-on with an eastbound Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 29 year old Allison K. Henderson of Rapid City.
Howard sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries. 51 year old Margo Lea Howard of Lambert, Montana was a passenger in the truck and received fatal injuries. Neither were wearing seat belts. Henderson sustained minor injuries and was wearing a seatbelt.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
