Authorities are investigating a shooting incident that took place around 2 am Sunday in the 700 block of South Rowley in Mitchell. The Mitchell Police Department confirms officers responded to a report of a person shooting a gun.
Tim Bormann of the South Dakota Attorney General’s office said the incident turned into a pursuit that ended with authorities taking an individual into custody. He says other individuals were hurt in the incident. Their injuries were non-life-threatening. The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation. No other information is being released at this point. The area was closed off while the investigation continued. A number of yellow markers used in the investigation were visible on the street.
