The South Dakota Department of Public Safety is reporting an 18 year old woman from Wall died Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash near Scenic, South Dakota.
Preliminary crash information indicates shortly before 8am, the driver of a Chevrolet Impala was traveling northbound on Bombing Range Road when the vehicle left the road. She attempted to correct and lost control of the vehicle, sending it into a roll. The driver sustained fatal injuries. Her 19 year old male passenger from Pierre was taken to a Rapid City hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries. Neither were wearing seatbelts.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash
Names of the those involved have not been released pending notification of family members. The investigation is ongoing.
