A 17 year old male from Hill City died Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash near Custer.
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety reported shortly after 3pm the driver of a Toyota 4Runner was traveling northbound on Medicine Mountain Road when the vehicle approached two UTVs traveling south. The driver failed to negotiate the curve, and lost control of the vehicle. The 4Runner entered the ditch and rolled. The driver sustained fatal injuries and was not wearing a seatbelt.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Names of the those involved have not been released pending notification of family members.
