Originally from Emery, Erickson moved to Mitchell 25 years ago where she attended Southeast Technical Institute. She has served as a Davison County Deputy Court Clerk Magistrate since November 2013.
The clerk is responsible for managing the clerk of court’s office, which processes and maintains all records and files of the court system for the county. The clerk supervises the deputy clerks and provides assistance and information to the judges, attorneys, outside agencies and the public on court-related matters. This includes all civil, criminal, probate and traffic files. In addition, as a clerk magistrate, the clerk of courts can perform weddings, set bonds, issue arrest and search warrants, and hold court on petty offenses and certain misdemeanors.
Presiding Judge Gering and First Judicial Circuit Court Administrator Kim Allison have every confidence that Erickson’s skills and experience will ensure that the Davison County Clerk of Court’s office will continue to provide a superior level of services to the residents of Davison County and the First Judicial Circuit.
The First Circuit covers 14 counties in southeast South Dakota.
