(MOSCOW) — Russian President Vladimir Putin oversaw a the testing of a hypersonic weapons test on Wednesday, conducted by the country’s Defense Ministry.
According to the Kremlin, the test involved the use of a hypersonic glide vehicle meant to evade radar. The vehicle performed a series of maneuvers before it “hit the hypothetical target on time within the range’s combat field.”
Hypersonic weapons typically operated at altitudes of 100,000 and 320,000 feet and at speeds greater than Mach 5.
