A comparison of health department statistics from Tuesday to Wednesday indicate the death was a male in his 70’s. Deaths are reported by a person’s county of residence. That raises the state’s overall total to 137. Davison County currently has 13 active COVID-19 cases with 93 cases overall, 80 recovered and 2,252 negative tests.
Meanwhile the state health department is reporting 89 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday with 72 newly recovered, 951 active cases and 43 patients currently hospitalized. Overall South Dakota has 9,168 cases with 8,080 recovered with an 88% recovery rate.
