Fort Pierre and the Stanley County Fairgrounds are hosting the 77th annual South Dakota High School Finals Rodeo this week with performances continuing through Saturday.
High School Rodeo Association Public Relations Director member Marty Philips says the second go of reined cow horse and cutting is today.
“And then we start Thursday morning with the rodeo events, and so that’ll be the first round, and then Thursday night would be another one, Friday morning, Friday night, and then our short go is Saturday,” said Phillips.
South Dakota High School Finals Rodeo champions will receive awards ranging from belt buckles to saddles. They’ll also get a spot on the state’s team at the National High School Finals Rodeo next month in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The South Dakota High School Finals Rodeo will be held at the Stanley County Fairgrounds in Fort Pierre through 2027.
