A second Davison County resident has died as a result of the COVID-19 virus. The South Dakota Health Department posted the death on its website Thursday. Meanwhile the county has three new COVID-19 infections bringing its total to 104 with 9 active and 95 recovered plus 2,506 negative tests. Davison County’s two-week trend continues upward.
The Health department is also reporting less than 25 positive cases tied to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, some from out of state. Plus 19 South Dakota school districts have reported at least one COVID-19 infection with a cumulative total of less than 40 thus far.
Statewide there are 125 new COVID-19 cases, 1,269 active cases and 76 newly recovered and 53 current hospitalizations and 157 deaths. Total positive cases are 10,691 with 9,265 recovered and 121,417 negative tests.
