Shooting suspect arrested

A home and a car near 5th & Prairie in the downtown Sioux Falls area were shot early Sunday morning…but thankfully no one was injured.

Police Information Officer Aaron Benson says dispatchers received numerous calls and texts shortly before 2:30 Sunday morning, saying shots were being fired in the neighborhood…

“Officers investigating the incident have found that a house and a car have been hit near that location by multiple rounds that have been fired from an unknown person,” said Benson.

Police talked with a man when they arrived, who told them he was outside when the shooting began.

24-year old Domenicos Escarsegariuz said he went into the building, got his own handgun, and began firing in the direction he thought the original shots came from.

He was arrested for reckless discharge of a firearm.
