During Friday evening’s South Dakota Hall-of-Fame induction ceremony, a Mitchell based-organization was recognized for its “Acts of Excellence.”
South Dakota Hall-of-Fame executive director Laurie Becvar recognized First Circuit CASA. “Since its founding more than 20 years ago, CASA of Mitchell has been the voice of children in foster care as they navigate through the legal process.” Becvar said. “The Mitchell program has grown to serve nine counties and has represented over 640 children who without them would have no one else on their side.”
Executive Director Jackie Horton accepted the recognition on behalf of First-Circuit CASA.
Later in the evening, Mitchell native and former KORN Radio owner Dean Sorenson was inducted into the South Dakota Hall-of-Fame.
