Soybeans were lower on profit taking and technical selling. Nationally, the USDA’s crop condition rating was up 2% on the week, with a big gain in Illinois, even as development remains slow after the historically slow start to planting. The trade is also waiting for something concrete with China following Monday’s rhetoric. There’s still a chance negotiations will resume later this month or in early September, but there’s no public timeline with new tariffs on deck from and for both countries.
