The South Dakota Department of Corrections is reporting the death of an inmate by an apparent suicide.
57 year old offender Keith McLain was found unresponsive in his cell at the South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls on September 22nd. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. At the time of his death, McLain was serving a sentence from Minnehaha County for second-degree rape.
