It looks like Mother Nature caused some issues with a section of the new Mitchell High School construction project.
Superintendent Joe Childs says gusty northwesterly winds Tuesday damaged a wall. He says it was essentially one of the south wall of one of the gymnasiums.
“One part of that wall was completely pushed over by the wind,” said Childs. “It was anchored to the foundation, but the anchor came loose and the wall came down in the wind yesterday (Tuesday).” He said there were no injuries.
“And there wasn’t any damage to the footings or the stem walls, footings plumbing, anything like that,” said Childs.
He says another part of the wall is leaning and will need to be taken down.
Childs doesn’t expect it to cause any major delays in the project.
