The Mitchell School District’s Summer Scholars program is off to a good start.
“It keeps getting better every day, so of course people are just kind of getting used to the logistics of how it’s operating and things, and that includes parents and grandparents and all the people that are dropping kids off, “observed Superintendent Joe Childs who got a first-hand look.
“Because I was getting asked all kinds of hilarious questions, and of course young kids, they just tell you whatever and so it was a good a lot of fun, and I think the kids are really enjoying it and a lot of smiles,” said Childs. “There are a lot of teachers there with a lot of experience working with those kids. And that’s a heck of a lot of fun to see as well.”
Summer Scholars includes educational enrichment during the morning with recreational and learning experiences during the afternoon. The program is open to Begindergarten/Kindergarten through 4th grade students with additional details available at the Mitchell School District website.
