The City of Mitchell has announced additional closures and cancellations

To help control the spread of COVID-19, Mayor Everson has decided to close City Hall & the Corn Palace to the public effective 3/17 at noon until further notice. City staff will still be available to assist the public at the numbers listed below, but this will help limit public interaction with city staff while still making those services available.    The Corn Palace Box office will remain open, but the rest of the building will be closed.  The Sanborn Public meeting will still be held; but we will also be live-streaming the meeting tonight on YouTube and Facebook and it will be posted to the City’s website tomorrow. We will take questions through the youTube site, or the Facebook live stream for those that choose to participate online.  The Airport Bid Opening Scheduled for March 18th at 1:30 pm will still take place.  The Mayor is also asking that all City boards and committees reschedule meetings that were to be held between March 17-27 to a future date.  If you have a need that cannot be addressed online, please contact us at the numbers below to determine if an accommodation can be made.

Petitions: Anyone that is looking to take out or return a petition for the June 2nd Election should contact the Finance Office at 605-995-8420.

City Bids:  Anyone wishing to submit a bid on a city project, can still do so by placing the bid in the City Drop Box located in the parking lot on the east side of City Hall.  City staff will ensure that all bids received by the published deadline, will be removed for the bid openings.

Corn Palace: Please contact 605-995-8430 for more information.  Any cancellations of Corn Palace Events are posted to the Corn Palace website at www.cornpalace.com

Utility Payments: The City of Mitchell does have the option to pay utility bills online at https://www.municipalonlinepayments.com/mitchellsd  or by phone at 833-748-5738.  Customers can also make payments by placing their payment along with your payment stub, or account information with your payment; in the drop box located in the parking lot on the east city of City Hall.  If you have questions on your bill amount, or you would like confirmation that a payment was received, you can call 605-995-8415.

New Utility Customers: Please call 605-995-8415 and indicate that you would like to fill out an application for utility services.  We will initiate the application over the phone, and provide the completed application for you to sign and process your receipt for the service.
