Governor Kristi Noem says South Dakota now has 14 positive tests for the COVID-19 virus. That’s up from 11 earlier this week. The State Public Health Lab resumed testing Thursday after receiving additional testing supplies. The three new positives are in Beadle County including one woman and two men. One in their 30’s, one in their 40’s and one in their 60’s. “We have two of these individuals that came back positive today that are reporting travel,” said Noem. “Two of these are reporting being in contact with COVID positives.” None of them are hospitalized at this time.
Noem says state health workers will visit each of the new patients to gather more information.
As of late Thursday afternoon there were 663 negative tests and 270 results pending.
The Governor is continuing to urge South Dakotans to take preventative measures to avoid the COVID-19 virus.
