Thune hopeful regarding tentative agreement to end the war with Iran

President Trump says an agreement to end the war with Iran is closer than ever. Senate Majority Leader John Thune spoke with the President earlier Friday and is hopeful. “And I think he feels really good about where this is headed,” said Thune. “He says the Iranians are going to lie about it, and now they’re having to pull some of that back. But I think in the end, obviously we want to achieve our objectives there first and foremost.”

Thune added, “The sooner we can get the strait open, get those shipping lanes open, the sooner we’ll see some relief at the pump, too”.

Over the last several days the U-S and Iran have traded missile attacks, some falling on Persian Gulf nations loyal to the United States despite a supposed cease-fire.

There’s no time-table when an agreement will be finalized.

Thune was attending the State VFW Convention in Mitchell.
