Turning dirt at Ridgeview on Foster

It’s been five years in the planning, including a generous land donation, public meetings and adjustments. And now dirt is turning at the Ridgeview on Foster workforce housing project.

Mitchell Area Housing, Inc president Terry Sabers says they’re off to a good start. “They’re going at it, leveling out the ground,” said Sabers. “Move some dirt from the high points and moving into the low points. Also cutting in the streets where they will be.”

The proposed time-line calls for completion of curb and gutter by July of 2025. “And so next year at this time, we may have some houses for sale,” Sabers said.

Sabers says there’s interest from local contractors to build the homes plus he’s getting continuing calls from potential home-buyers. He says they’re focusing on homes in the $250,000 and $300,000 price range.
