Dirt is moving at the South Lake Estates housing development near Lake Mitchell.
Terry Sabers is president of Mitchell Area Housing, Inc, or MAHI. He says there are 55 total lots with MAHI owning 37. “We’re going to put a variety of homes out here,” Sabers said. “We’ve got some closer to the lake that are very nice lots.” He says there are others where they plan to build starter-homes. “So there’s a little bit of variety out here,” said Sabers.
Contractors are currently working on infrastructure and hope to complete it later this fall. “If we have a fall like we had last year, they’ll get it done,” noted Sabers.
Sabers says curb and gutter is scheduled for installation next spring. “Once they get the curb and gutter in, we can start digging basements and putting homes in,” he said
Sabers is predicting they’ll have houses for sale this time next year.
