There’s no love loss between Senator Mike Rounds and the U-S Postal Service. He shared his conversation with the Inspector general who acknowledged a problem. “The only way we’re going to get this fixed is if we go quietly, and because if we tell them they’re coming, they’ll hide the mail that’s sitting around. Now this is the Inspector General telling us this,” said Rounds.
Rounds says local postal workers are doing a great job serving as whistleblowers to his office. “They’re calling us and telling us where they’re hiding the mail,” Rounds said. “The Office of the Inspector General has now been in. They’ve done their first series of investigations. We don’t have the full report yet, but we’re going to get this fixed.”
Rounds says there are four postal service governors awaiting confirmation. He vows to hold up those nominations until the problem is resolved.
