More than 150 vendors settled into Hitchcock Park over the weekend for Arts in the Park. New this year is Prairie Posh Hatworks from Arlington, South Dakota.

Mal Barsch creates hand-burned design hats. “I have anything from visors to trucker caps, to cowboy hats,” Barsch said. “And I free-hand burn it all.”

She started two years ago after seeing it on-line and putting in a lot of practice and patience. “I absolutely love it,” she said. “It’s a dream come true for me.”

This is Barsch’s first time at Arts in the Park. “I like the relaxed vibe here, people are very friendly,” she smiled. It’s very spacious, I love the shade trees.”

Prairie Posh Hatworks is also on Facebook.
