The 2025 SDHSAA state individual wrestling tournament concluded from Summit Arena at The Monument in Rapid City on Saturday. Canton and Sturgis Brown won the team titles on the boys side, while Pierre once again won the team title in the girls division.

Mitchell’s Rocky Clark finished fourth at 285 pounds to lead the Kernels at the state wrestling tournament in Rapid City on Saturday. On the girls’ side, Frankie Kranz at 120 pounds and Taylor DeJong at 165 pounds took home sixth place.
Sturgis won the Class A boys title with 198 points, ahead of second place Aberdeen Central at 146.5 points. Moses Gross of Huron at 150 pounds was named most outstanding wrestler.
Canton won the Class B Boys title for the eight consecutive season with 189 points, ahead of second place Winner and third place Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes at 121 points. Bon Homme/Avon placed sixth, while Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney was 12th. Lucas Lenz of Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes) defeated Wyatt Anderson of Parkston to win the state title at 165 pounds. Holden Havlik of Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Wolsey-Wessington took home first at 215 pounds.
Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon girls wrestling placed fifth in the team standings as Peyton Hellman became the first five-time girls state wrestling champion in state history. Alexis Bryant of McCook Central/Montrose finished first at 114 pounds
