Bates sets uneven bars state meet record to finish second in the All-Around

Mitchell’s Bentley Bates set a new Class AA state gymnastics meet record with a score of 9.916 in the uneven bars on her way to a second place finish in the all-around competition in Watertown on Saturday.

Bates also had a second place finish on beam at 9.65 points and a fifth place finish in the floor with a score of 9.556.

Katelyn Maeschen of Harrisburg won the all-around with a total of 38.65, while Bates was second at 37.983.

Mitchell’s Olivia Prunty finished third overall with 37.183 points, while Kyanna Gropper was sixth with 36.266 points.

Prunty placed third in bars (9.433 points) and fourth in the vault (9.466 points), while Gropper’s top finish was third in bars (9.433 points).
