
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) is proud to announce the following women’s basketball players-of-the-week for contests played February 16-22, 2026. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2025-2026 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Defensive – Avery Broughton, Dakota Wesleyan University (Guard)
Avery Broughton of Dakota Wesleyan University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women’s basketball defensive player-of-the-week. Broughton, a junior from Corsica, South Dakota, posted team-leading rebound marks in a pair of contests to wrap up the regular season. She had 11 points, 13 rebounds, three blocks, and two assists against Dordt. In a win over Northwestern, she had 14 rebounds, a steal, a blocked shot and a new career-high of 30 points as well as four assists.
Offensive – Mallie McNair, Briar Cliff University (Guard)
Mallie McNair of Briar Cliff University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women’s basketball offensive player-of-the-week. McNair, a senior from Imperial, Nebraska, scored 33 points and recorded four assists in the Chargers win over the Mustangs. McNair shot 13-of-29 from the field and went five-for-six from the free throw line while adding four rebounds and a pair of steals.
