The Mitchell Kernel boys basketball team will be at the Corn Palace on Saturday night at 6 pm when they host the Watertown Arrows in the Class AA SoDAK 16 with the winner advancing to the state tournament in Rapid City, March 16-18.
The Kernels are looking to qualify for the state tournament for the third straight season.
They would face the winner of No. 6. Pierre vs. No. 11. O’Gorman in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 16 at the Summit Arena in Rapid City at 8:45 pm CST with a win Saturday vs. Watertown.
The Kernels won at Watertown on February 18, 63-47. Freshman Colton Smith had a career-high 28 points along with 10 rebounds, while Senior Dylan Soulek added 18 points and five assists.
