Day 2: Dakota Wesleyan track & field wrapped up the 2024 GPAC Outdoor Championships in Orange City, Iowa. The day was highlighted with three athletes earning ALL-GPAC honors with their top eight finishes. Abbigail Magnuson earned All-Conference honors in both the Discus (4th / 41.91m) and the Shot Put (5th / 13.86m) and is already a NAIA qualifier in both events. Taliyah Hayes was the top finisher for DWU between the two days with her third-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 11.42m, making that back-to-back seasons Hayes earned all-conference honors in that event. The last athlete was Caleb Sayler who for a second straight season earned all-conference honors with his 15:11.63 seventh place finish in the 5000m.
Two women’s track and field standouts cracked the top-10 record books with their performances on the day. Abby Hasart had a 19:24.06 time in the 5000m which was good for third all-time in DWU history and Caley Murphy moved into seventh all-time in DWU history with her 2:27.16 time in the 800m. Jace Freeseman had a season best 50.25 finish in the 400m while Quenton Walls also hit his best mark in the triple jump with a 12.85m.

Day 1: The Dakota Wesleyan outdoor track and field teams kicked off the first day of the GPAC Championships this afternoon. DWU had seven athletes competing on the first day. Cole Holden and Max Raab placed 9th and 10th in the men’s javelin to be the best finishers for DWU on the first day. Taliyah Hayes finished in 11th in long jump to lead the women.
